


Bathurst Pool
RE-OPENING FOR THE 2026 SEASON ON 1st MAY
Given as a present to the inhabitants of Lydney and Aylburton by the Bathurst family in 1920. Bathurst Swimming Pool in Lydney is considered to be one of Gloucestershire’s best kept secrets.
2026 Season will run Friday 1st May- Sunday 6th September.
Please note that the public swim session is weather dependent, contact us at the pool on 01594 842625 before you start your journey if you are unsure.
Payment by cash only. We do not have a booking system, it is queue for entry. On very hot days we may have to operate a one out, one in system. There is no shade whilst queuing, please wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water. We are often very quiet on cooler days if you want to escape the crowds on extremely hot days
This 38 metre outdoor pool in the Forest of Dean is run by volunteers and open for at least 14 weeks during the Summer. The Depth goes from 1m to 1.8m. Changing cubicles are available however there are no lockers, so please bare this in mind when packing for your trip. The pool is fully supervised by lifeguards.
Over flow parking on hot days is available in the field to the right of the entrance to the pool. Bikes can be locked against the railings. Please do not park on the side of the main road blocking the pavement.
Fully stocked shop available, you are welcome to bring a picnic, however no glass.
